Prerequisites to Web Based Programs

Before embarking on a certification quest, it is very important to understand the peripheral requirements that lay the foundation to which the certifications can be built upon.

Understanding that Visual Testing is the very first certification required for further certifications such as Magnetic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, etc. Is key in planning for success. We have created a comprehensive program that allows you to customize your certifications based on what you have already achieved. Almost like an ala carte menu approach.

Each certification requires the completion and passing of three tests; Basic, Standard and a Practical Exam that includes hands on, in a real world environment, with the materials and tools that you actual use in the field.

To help you prepare for the exams, we have compiled a list of several videos, websites and downloadable PDFs that will not only explain concepts but also provide you with the training hours needed for certification.

Below is a list of base prerequisites that are universal to all offered certification packages that we offer:

  • Complete and return Personnel Qualification and Record
  • Visual Acuity Exam results
  • AWS membership
  • ASNT membership
  • Code Book (or reference available) for applicable code (ie AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104, etc.)
  • Written Practice (if not available, optionally WJMG can write  - call for pricing)
  • Work Instructions (if not available, optionally WJMG can write  - call for pricing)
  • Documentation of Qualification of Training Hours, Experience Levels (see Table A)
  • Level III Appointment contact information (if not available, optionally WJMG can provide  - call for pricing)

Of course to certify as a Level II in a method, Level I must have been previously certified. And all Methods beyond Visual Testing, must include Visual Testing I & II as a prerequisite. (CWI or CVWI satisfies that requirement)
